Jamie is passionate about motivating clients to follow their vision and give them the knowledge, tools and confidence to achieve whatever they set their mind to. Jamie spends most of his time out of the office talking to clients and understanding their needs.

He’s focused on organising our team and resources to achieve client objectives and our own mission and vision. Before founding Sky Accounting, Jamie worked for various accountancy firms advising on taxation and business information systems after graduating with a business degree from the University of Ballarat. Jamie loves the 'Cloud Revolution' and how it is revolutionising the way businesses operate. 

Jamie is an entrepreneur at heart, starting 'Sky Accountants' from his home office. He specialises in helping business owners 'build a business that can run without them'.

He is a Fellow of the Institute of Public Accountants (FIPA), a Registered Tax Agent and a Registered Agent for the Australian Securities and Investment Commission (ASIC). He is also a Sellability Agent for Australia. Jamie is married with four children and competes in pro-running with Athletics Victoria. His all-time favourite movie is 127 Hours and current favourite book is The Automatic Customer by John Warrillow

Tim Goode

Client Manager & Chief Operations Officer

As well as heading up our Ballarat office, Tim is a dedicated Client Manager. His focus is to advise clients on complex business tax issues, finding value added solutions. Tim has a business degree from the University of  Ballarat, majoring in Accounting.

Areas of specialisation include: capital gains tax, income tax, GST and property development, transport and logistics, hospitality - including clubs, pubs and cafe's. Tim also works with real estate firms and manufacturing clients.

Tim routinely advises on business valuations.

With his team Tim delivers integrated cloud accounting and business solutions using Xero Accounting and the eco system.

Tim and his team have specialist skills in delivering Virtual CFO management outcomes, including integrating Point of Sales systems and cloud warehousing and stock management systems with importers, exporters and manufacturers.

His team also have specialist financial management skills with VendPOS, Kounta and Unleashed inventory management, including many other Xero Add-ons.

He is married and to keep fit runs and plays tennis.

Ashley Carmichael

As a Client Manager Ashley delivers personalised accounting and taxation services to small and medium-sized businesses, individuals, SMSF’s and Not for Profit Organisations. Ashley is also our Sunbury Office Manager.

Ashley attended RMIT in Melbourne to gain his business degree and is a Chartered Accountant. He loves complex and technical tax issues.

Areas of expertise include, property matters involving self managed superannuation funds and complex tax issues. Industry areas of specialisation include the IT industry, Dentists and building and construction, including sub-contractors.

His holistic approach results in a personalised service that covers not only compliance obligations, but also helps to build and protect clients’ financial positions. Ashley lives in Sunbury with his spouse and two children. He likes to travel to new places and loves to swim.

Paul Dowler

Client Manager & Chief Financial Officer

As a Client Manager, Paul is hands-on helping clients and rarely without a smile. He’s passionate about cloud accounting and the Xero Eco system.

Paul has solid tax and business experience with small to medium-sized businesses in various fields, including real estate agents, retail and property developers, plus experience with business valuations and due diligence assignments. He loves working for clients in the travel and tourism industry, including the building and construction industry.

Paul's passion is KPI monitoring and virtual CFO management, finding and comparing industry benchmarks and monitoring self imposed targets.

He graduated from the University of Ballarat with a Bachelor of Commerce/Bachelor of Management. Outside of work, Paul likes spending time with his son, going to the beach, watching good movies, eating good food and meeting up with family and friends. Paul loves to play racquetball and work out.
